Portfolio: Demeter Series (Greece)
The Demeter series was born after a trip made to the Greek Islands. Two artist friends and I rented a villa in the town of Lindos for a month of making art and exploring the countryside. Having just gone through a period of personal loss, I was struck by the psychological parallels between the story of Demeter (Ceres) and the cycles in a woman's life. These pieces reflect dimensions of flowering, withering and reawakening in our minds, bodies and spirits.
